"Yoshi" is a recurring major character of the Mario franchise and series, first introduced in Super Mario World. Yoshi belongs to a species of dinosaur-like creatures, also named Yoshi, and are interchangeable between each other. Regardless, Yoshi assists Mario in many of his adventures, and even when they save him when he was a baby back in the days. They first appear in Hunger Games: Super Smash Bros. 4 Edition.
