"Tributes" is a term defined to the official participants of a Hunger Games season. In official Hunger Games lore, tributes originate from all twelve Districts, each giving to the Capitol two of its residents, a boy and a girl. Each official Hunger Game season consists of twenty-four tributes coming from all districts, and will be sent to their respective arenas for a gladiator-style game where the last one standing will be the Victor. Sometimes, it is also mentioned that the total amount of tributes can be changed, particularly if it is a Quarter Quell.

In the Hunger Games Simulators, tributes are used for the season. Most of the Simulators require with a minimum of twenty-four tributes with their names input. Later versions of Simulators would also input their gender, relationship attributes as well as their chance of wining.

Functions[]

Different Hunger Games Simulators give different functions to the Tributes, and are listed based of the following:

Ripred.net Version[]

In this version, it consists of a fixed number of tributes, which is a total of twenty-four. Only their names are input in their respective boxes.

Brantsteele Version[]

Regardless of the original and experimental versions, both of them have identical functions for their tributes. The Tribute is divided into three different parts; Name, Image URL and Gender.

Name is the name of the tribute. It also has a different box, which is referred as the "Nickname". The Nickname is used throughout the entire simulator in the events, while the name is used only in the official statistics, reaping and statuses of the tributes.

Image URL is used for the depicted appearance of the tribute, and must be from an existing URL. Eliminated image URL is used whenever a tribute is killed or defeated in the season, and will be shown in the Fallen Tributes tab and statuses. Images that are deleted or no longer exists will use the missing image placeholder, especially with the eliminated image URL.

Gender is used for the events of the season. In the Original version, the gender is limited only to M (Male) and F (Female), while the Experimental feature retains those gender choices in addition to choices such as "Non-Binary", "Neuter" and "Pair." Additionally, both are no longer represented by a single letter, and is displayed in a full word.

Simublast Version[]

In this version, the Tributes are similar to the Original Brantsteele version, but also has a fixed number per District similar to the Ripred.com version. However, this version also has the Favourite or Preference feature, which is used to slightly increase the chance of survival of the creator's preferred tribute.

In the February 2021 update, it is now possible to use actual images in addition of URLs.

This version also has an exclusive feature to manually kill and revive a tribute in a season.

Adrian Thumbtack Version[]

In this version, the Tributes are similar to the Original Brantsteele version, with the ability to select on how many tributes in a season similar to its Experimental version. Unlike the other versions, there is no maximum limit on how many tributes are allowed in a single season, which makes it theoretically possible to have a very large amount of tributes. Additionally, there is also an available option that allows two champions in a season.

The Tributes in this version also have three variables that are unique to each tribute. The first variable tells whether the tribute is alive or dead. They are surrounded by parentheses and each having a hexcode assigned to them, with "Alive" tributes being "#1AFF1A" and "Dead" tributes being "#FF1A1A". The second variable details on the total amount of kills that a tribute has through out the season.

The third variable acts as a health status of the tribute, which is influenced by events that can alter a tribute's health. It is divided into four descriptions; Healthy, Supercharged, Injured and Deceased. All tributes start with the status Healthy, which will further be altered to Injured (e.g. injuries in a fight, accidents and diseases) or Deceased (e.g. being killed by other tributes, accidents or succumb to diseases). Injured can be reverted back to Healthy if an event features the tribute patching up wounds.

It is not well-tested, but it is hypothesized that tributes continually getting injured increases their chances of being killed. The use of the Supercharged status is also not known, but is likely to influence on a tribute's survival rate in a season.

There is also one default event that mentions a deceased tribute, making it the first simulator version to have such feature.

If a creator decides to have only 1 tribute for a season, it will not be allowed and a pop-out box will appear, saying "You really want 1 participants?".

Types of Tributes[]

Default Tributes[]

"Default Tributes" are special tributes that are available for selection in their respective simulators. Currently, only the Brantsteele and Simublast versions have their own default tributes.

The lists of Default Tributes are split into three lists depending of where they are first introduced:

Victors[]

"Victors" are tribute who won their respective seasons. Every simulator ends with a Victor of the season, in which they will be crowned as the Victor of the season. In the Experimental version, it contains chance events known as "Endgame", making it likely for a season to end with two Victors or none depending on the chance that the event has.

Errors and Bugs[]

Brantsteele Version[]

  • If no tribute dies during the Bloodbath, a glitched tribute will be added and contributed in the total number of defeated tributes. It is nameless and has no District number, while the image is an unloaded error. This happens if the first slain tributes happen after the Bloodbath.[1]

Simublast Version[]

  • No matter how many times you choose, you cannot manually revive the tribute of your choosing (Fixed as of February 24, 2021)
    • Although fixed, the revived tribute will appear in the next set of events (Issue (?) found: February 24, 2021)
  • If the last surviving tribute is killed, the simulator will go on indefinitely
  • Season codes cannot be loaded, causing the default tributes ("74th Hunger Games Season") to be used. (Issue found: February 2021; caused by coding errors)[2]
    • Additionally, adding and reducing districts are not functioning along with the image of replacing the tributes' images. (Issue found: February 2021)
    • Manually reviving/killing[3] a tribute will crash the run. (Issue found: February 15, 2021; Fixed as of February 24, 2021)
      • Further more, using the revive command will cause the button on all of the tributes to disappear, following by an error code. (Issue found: February 20, 2021; Fixed as of February 24, 2021)
    • Season run will be looping back to the reaping. (Issue found: February 15, 2021)
      • Season lasts only for 2 days/1 day. (Issue found: February 20, 2021)[4]
  • There is a chance that 2 tributes might remain there forever (Issue fixed in February 2020)[5]

Adrian Thumbtack Version[]

  • Having more than 10,000 can cause the webpage to suffer loading glitch and may crash the webpage. Due to having no tribute limits, it is recommended for creators to limit the number of tributes.
